THE SEVEN CHAKRAS
Chakra is a Sanskrit word which means
"wheel," the chakras are spinning
vortexes of energy
located within our etheric body. There are seven
major chakras and they function as pathways for energy to be taken
in.
They are the network through which
the mind, body, and spirit interact
as one system.
1st "Root" (Red) - Located at the base of the spine.
It is linked to survival
instincts, security, and the ability to ground ourselves in the physical
world. When unbalanced we may be afraid of life, feel like victims,
become paranoid or defensive. Garnet & hematite help to ground us and
balance the first chakra.
2nd
"Sacral" (Orange) - Located in the pelvic region. It is
linked with the energies of sexuality and
creativity and deeply connected to the five physical senses. When it is
unblocked people feel fully alive, energetic, spontaneous, guilt free
and fully appreciate their bodies. When blocked people express issues
with money, sex, power, control, creativity, and honor. Carnelian
& orange aventurine stones helps with energy, sex, life force, and
creativity. They bring healing to the second chakra.
3rd "Solar Plexus" (Yellow) - Located behind the
solar plexus. This chakra gives us a sense of our
personal power in the world. When unblocked people feel self-confident,
have a clear sense of purpose, and pursue their dreams. Imbalances
appear as lack of self-confidence, insecurity about money, issues with
trust, fear, perfection, and intimidation. Amber and citrine aid
with emotional healing of the third chakra.
4th "Heart" (Green) - Located in the heart area
center of chest. This chakra when opened relates to love,
the ability to express love, and emotional well-being. When unblocked
we give love unconditionally and attract an abundance of love. When it
is blocked you feel the lack of love in your lives, and have issues
with hope, forgiveness, anger, and grief. Malachite, green quartz, jade,
and rose quartz bring peaceful & healing love energy to the fourth
chakra.
5th "Throat" (Blue) - Located in the throat, neck
region. This chakra
governs communication and mental
creativity. When blocked communication is difficult, and you have issues
with criticism & judgment. Blockages manifest as chronic sore throats,
laryngitis, or swollen glands. Turquoise, kyanite, and blue lace
agate bring beneficial vibrations to heal the fifth chakra.
6th
"Third Eye" (Indigo) - Located between the eyebrows,
this chakra is the psychic center and when unblocked
the connection to our higher mind, the source of intuition, esp, and
other psychic abilities. Blockages include fear of imagination, of
dreams, and one's irrational intuitions. Lapis, sugalite, and blue onyx clear
and stimulate the sixth chakra for more spiritual awareness.
7th
"Crown" (Violet) - Located at the top of the head. This
chakra is our direct connection to spirit. When
balanced we understand our relationship with the universe. We
dissolve the illusion that we are separate and appreciate our
uniqueness and our places as parts of the whole. When blocked we feel lonely,
we are afraid of death and feel a disconnection to spirit. Amethyst and
clear quartz bring balance to the seventh chakra and allow us to
harmonize with our universe. Benefits to balancing the chakras are
general health and well-being. By ensuring the free flow of life energy
(also known as prana or chi) throughout the body we raise our
vibration and awaken our spirituality.
